Water dragons in the garden

Water Dragons in the garden are a great way to help balance the ecosystem, keeping a good control of all the garden insects, so in our garden there is no need for spraying. This water dragon in the photo is called Gekko and she is the mother of all our water dragons, she came to us about 8 years ago as a baby and I managed to keep her out of harms way till she grew up and now lays her eggs every year in a sandy patch out the front.

We have a lot of babys running around at this time of year jumping in and out of the ponds and catching insects. Gekko sleeps on our window sill every night and just at first light she jumps off into this pond, has a swim and lets all the fish give her skin a good clean. I do get a water dragon or two that tend to follow me around when I am digging in the garden to see if they can get a free treat and if I find a curl grub I will throw it on the grass and its quite the feast. Its a lot of fun and I love it
