First stage of the construction was to clean out the garden
beds and create a stable base with a steal footing with the
first layer of the wall.
The natural porphyry wall has been built and 60 tonne of top
quality soil and mulch has been put along the slope so the garden
can be planted out. The garden has a full range of colourful Brisbane
plants that require little work to maintain. It has an automatic irrigation
system and an automatic LED lighting system.

After a day of excavation the upper area called
the outpost has been transformed from a slope to
a level and the construction is under way. The roof is up for
the outpost/fire pit area is in the stairs from the bottom
have been built and the paving has begun.
Outpost construction continued. Gigi is resting
and on the way to the final stage of the construction.
The fire pit is in the area is ready for a party.
The synthetic grass has come a long way in the past 20 years
and I am happy to say worked a treat.
I really focused on the levels being perfect with out
doing over bearing retaining walls. All the walls were
designed to be used as seating at party time and all the
stairs I built were designed to be welcoming and relaxing to walk up.
As you can see from the top view the area in the Mt Coot-tha forest
was very steep and I managed to cut into the slope and provide a flat
level space that can be used for relaxation and party time. All was built
by hand other than one day of excavation to create the base level.
The focus of the project was to get a relaxing space to sit in the
Mt Coot-tha forest and look at the amazing view of the top of Stuartholme School
that lights up at night and the forest line under an amazing natural canopy and full
of native birds and wildlife.
